2142 – ʿĪsā ibn ʿAlī reported to us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad al-Baghawī told us; Dawūd ibn ʿAmr al-Ḍabbī narrated to us; Hushaym narrated to us, from Yaʿlā ibn ʿAṭāʾ, from Maymūn ibn Abī Maysarah, who said:
“Abū Hurayrah had two daily proclamations. At the very start of the day he would say, ‘The night has gone, the day has come, and the clan of Pharaoh are being shown the Fire.’ When evening arrived he would say, ‘The day has gone, and the clan of Pharaoh are being shown the Fire.’ No one heard his voice without immediately seeking Allah’s protection from the Fire.”
