2126 – ʿAlī b. Muḥammad b. ʿAlī al-Wāsiṭī narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUmar narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad b. Isḥāq al-Khayyāṭ narrated to us; he said: Abū Manṣūr narrated to us; he said: Sufyān, from Layth, from Mujāhid, who said:

“No one dies without the people with whom he used to sit being displayed to him. If they were people of idle amusement, then (he is shown) people of amusement; and if they were people of remembrance, then people of remembrance.”
