2111 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad al-Baghawī narrated to us; he said: ʿUthmān ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us; he said: ʿAlī ibn Mushir, the judge of Mosul, narrated to us, from Saʿd ibn Ṭāriq, from Ribʿī, from Ḥudhayfah ibn al-Yamān, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“Indeed, the span of my Pond is as far as the distance between Aylah and ʿAdan. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, its vessels are more numerous than the stars; it is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, I shall drive men away from it just as a man drives a stray camel away from his own watering place.”
He was asked, “O Messenger of Allah, will you recognize us on that Day?” He replied, “Yes. You will come to me radiant and bright-limbed from the traces of wuduʾ (ritual ablution)—a distinction that no one but you will possess.”
Muslim recorded this narration through the chain of ʿUthmān.
