2097 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Qāsim narrated to us; he said: ʿUbayd Allah ibn al-Ḥusayn aṣ-Ṣābūnī al-Anṭākī narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥakam narrated to us; he said: My father, together with Shuʿayb ibn al-Layth, informed me, from ʿUbayd Allah ibn Abī Jaʿfar, who said: I heard Ḥamzah ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar say: I heard ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “A man will go on begging until, when the Day of Resurrection comes, not a shred of flesh remains on his face.
He also said: “The sun will draw so close that people’s sweat will reach the midpoint of their ears. While they are in that state, they will seek relief, crying, ‘O Noah!’ He will reply, ‘I am not the one for that.’ Then they will go to Moses, and he will give the same answer. Finally they will come to Muhammad, and he will intercede; judgment will then be passed among the creation. He will walk until he takes hold of the ring of Paradise’s gate, and on that day Allah will raise him to the Praised Station.”
Al-Bukhārī recorded this ḥadīth through Yaḥyā ibn Bukayr.
