2096 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allah ibn Muḥammad al-Baghawī ⦗1186⦘ narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar narrated to us; he said: Abū Usāmah, from Dāwūd ibn Yazīd al-Awdī, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ, regarding the verse, “It may be that your Lord will raise you to a Praised Station” (Qur’an 17:79). He said: “That is the station at which I shall intercede on behalf of my community.”
