2095 – Ahmad ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us; he said: ʿAli ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Mubashshir narrated to us; he said: Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī, from Sufyān, from Abū Isḥāq, from Ṣilah, from Ḥudhayfah, reported:
“Allah will gather all people on a single plain where the caller’s voice reaches them and every eye beholds them—barefoot, naked, silent, just as He first created them. No soul will utter a word unless He permits it. Then a voice will cry out, ‘O Muḥammad!’ and he will answer, ‘I am at Your service, again at Your service; all goodness is in Your Hands. The rightly guided is the one You guide. Your servant stands before You, belongs to You and returns to You; there is no shelter and no escape from You except to You. Blessed and Exalted are You! Glory be to the Lord of the House!’
That is al-maqām al-maḥmūd—the Praised Station—about which Allah said: “It may be that your Lord will raise you to a Praised Station” (Qur’an 17:79).
