And through that same chain, Hanbal reported: I heard ʿAli ibn al-Madini say, “Faith includes affirming intercession, and that—through the pleas of those who intercede—people will be brought out of the Fire after they have been burned and reduced to charcoal, just as the transmitted report states; one must believe in this and submit to it.”
