2085 – ʿUbayd Allah ibn Ahmad related to us; Abu Ḥāmid al-Ḥaḍramī ⦗1182⦘ narrated to us; he said: Abu al-Ashʿath narrated to us; he said: al-Fuḍayl ibn Sulaymān narrated to us; he said: Abu Mālik narrated to us; he said: Ribʿī reported that he heard Hudhayfah ibn al-Yamān say:

He heard a man supplicating, “O Allah, make me among those who will receive the intercession of Muhammad.” Hudhayfah remarked, “Intercession, however, is for the sinners from among the believers and the Muslims.”
