2068 – Ahmad ibn ʿUbayd related to us; he said: ʿAli ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Mubashshir narrated to us; he said: Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us; he said: Muʿawiyah narrated to us; he said: he narrated to us—

2069 – Likewise, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan and ʿUbayd Allah ibn Ahmad reported to us; they said: al-Husayn ibn Yahya narrated to us; he said: al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us; he said: Abu Muʿawiyah narrated to us, from al-Aʿmash, from Ibrahim, from ʿUbaydah, from ʿAbd Allah, who said:

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, “I certainly know the last of the people of the Fire to leave it. He will be a man who crawls out of it, and it will be said to him, ‘Go and enter Paradise.’ He will go to enter, but he will find that the people have already taken their places. Then it will be said to him, ‘Do you remember the time you were in?’ He will reply, ‘Yes.’ He will be told, ‘Make a wish.’ He will make a wish, and it will be said to him, ‘You shall have what you wished for and ten times the like of the world besides.’ He will say, ‘Are You making fun of me while You are the Sovereign?’” ʿAbd Allah added, “I saw the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) laugh until his molar teeth were visible.” ⦗1175⦘ Muslim recorded this narration through the isnād of al-Aʿmash, and al-Bukhari through the isnād of Mansur.
