195—Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman informed us. He said: ʿAbd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Baghawi informed us. He said: al-ʿAbbas ibn al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Abu ʿAwanah narrated to us, from ʿUmar ibn Abi Salamah, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“People will keep questioning you until they say to you, ‘This is Allah, who created us; then who created Allah?’”

So I put my fingers in my ears and then cried out: “Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth: ‘Allah is One, Allah, the Everlasting Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, and there is none comparable to Him.’” [al-Ikhlas: 2]
