2055 – Muhammad ibn al-Husayn al-Fārisi reported to us; he said: Muhammad ibn Jaʿfar ibn Hishām ibn Mallas reported to us; he said: Mūsā ibn ʿĀmir narrated to us; he said: al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us; he said: Zuhayr ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from his father, who said: Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allah told me that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “My intercession on the Day of Resurrection is for those who committed the major sins among my community.”
I asked, “What exactly does this mean, O Jābir?” He replied, “Indeed, O Muhammad. Whoever’s good deeds outweigh his evil deeds on the Day of Resurrection—that person will enter Paradise without any reckoning. Whoever’s good and evil deeds are equal—that person will undergo an easy reckoning and then enter Paradise. The intercession of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is reserved only for the one who has ruined himself and burdened his back (with sins).”
