194—ʿUbayd Allah ibn Ahmad ibn ʿAli informed us. He said: Ahmad ibn ʿAli ibn al-ʿAlaʾ informed us. He said: Muhammad ibn Shawkar narrated to us. He said: Kathir ibn Hisham narrated to us. He said: Jaʿfar ibn Burqan narrated to us. He said: I heard Yazid al-Asamm say: I heard Abu Hurayrah say: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“People will surely question you about everything, until they say, ‘Allah, exalted is He, created everything; then who created Him?’” ⦗136⦘

Yazid said: Najbah ibn Sabigh al-Aslami told me that he saw a group of riders come to Abu Hurayrah and ask him about this. He said, “Allah is the Greatest! My close friend never told me anything but that I have seen it happen, while I was awaiting it.”
