2038 – ʿUbayd Allah ibn Ahmad reported to us; Ahmad ibn Salih ibn Abi Layla reported to us; he said: al-ʿAbbas ibn Yazid narrated to us; he said: Khalid ibn al-Harith and Ghundar narrated to us; they said: Shuʿbah, from ʿAtaʾ ibn al-Saʾib, from Abu al-Bakhtari—​and, as I think, from ʿUbaydah—​from Ibn al-Zubayr, who traced it back to the Prophet ﷺ: “A man swore by Him besides whom there is no deity, lying, and he was forgiven.”
