2023 — Al-Hasan ibn ʿUthmān informed us; Ahmad ibn Hamdān reported; he said: Bishr ibn Mūsā narrated to us; … ; Abu Isḥāq said: “I asked al-Awzāʿī, ‘Should we ever withhold the funeral prayer from anyone who faces the qiblah, even if he has committed every sin imaginable?’ He replied, ‘No. The early scholars transmitted the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ out of reverence for Allah’s sacred limits, yet they never counted a sin as disbelief or idolatry. It was commonly said: “The believer is as strong as iron when it comes to the sanctities of Allah.”’
