2015 — ʿUbayd Allah ibn Muhammad informed us; ʿUthman ibn Ahmad informed us; Ahmad ibn al-Walid al-Fahham narrated to us; Aswad ibn ʿAmir narrated to us; Abu Hilal, from Abu ʿAliah, who said:
“I asked, ‘Abu Umamah, if one of our people is a wicked man who drinks alcohol and then dies, should we perform the funeral prayer for him?’
He replied, “To whom, then, would you consign your dead? And how do you know? Perhaps he lay down on his bed and said, ‘There is no god but Allah,’ and Allah forgave him.”
