2004 — Jaʿfar ibn ʿAbd Allāh related to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Hārūn narrated to us; Abū al-Rabīʿ narrated, saying: Abū ʿAwānah narrated, from ʿĀṣim, from Abū al-Ḍuḥā, from Shutayr ibn Shakal:
It was said to him, “Did you hear ʿAbd Allāh say, ‘There is no verse in the Book of Allah that more powerfully urges one to entrust his affair to Allah than His statement: “O My servants who have wronged their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed Allah forgives all sins” (Q 39:53)?’ ”
He replied, “Yes.”
