1997 — ʿUbayd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad informed us; he said: Yusuf ibn Yaʿqub informed us; he said: my grandfather narrated to us; he said: Wakiʿ narrated to us, from Qudāmah al-ʿĀmirī, from Jasrah bint Dajājah, from Abū Dharr, that the Prophet ﷺ repeatedly recited this verse: in tuʿadhdhib-hum fa-innahum ʿibāduka (“If You punish them, they are Your servants …,” al-Maʾidah 5:118).
