1942 – Aḥmad ibn ʿUbayd informed us; ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Mubashshir informed us; he said: Aḥmad ibn Sinān narrated to us; he said: Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us; he said: Jarīr ibn ʿUthmān narrated to us; he said: Ḥibbān ibn Zayd narrated to us, from ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: “Show mercy and you will be shown mercy; forgive, and Allah will forgive you. Woe to the aqmāʿ al-qawl (those who are merely receptacles for words), and woe to those who persist in what they do while they know.”
