1937 – Muhammad ibn ʿUthman informed us; al-Ḥusayn ibn Ismāʿīl informed us; he said: Ibn ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Nāṣila ibn Sulaymān, from Ashʿath ibn ʿAbd al-Malik, from al-Farazdaq, reported:
Abu Hurayrah looked at my feet and said, “O Farazdaq, I see that your feet ⦗1117⦘ are small, so seek a place for them in Paradise.” I replied, “I have many sins.” He said, “Do not despair, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘In the West there is a gate that remains open; it will not be closed until the sun rises from the West.’”
١٩٣٧ - أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، أنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ: نا ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ نَاصِلَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، عَنِ الْفَرَزْدَقِ، قَالَ: نَظَرَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ إِلَى قَدَمَيَّ فَقَالَ: يَا فَرَزْدَقُ أَرَى قَدَمَيْكَ ⦗١١١٧⦘ صَغِيرَتَيْنِ فَاطْلُبْ لَهُمَا مَوْضِعًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَقُلْتُ: إِنَّ لِي ذَنُوبًا كَثِيرَةً فَقَالَ: لَا تَيْأَسْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّ بِالْمَغْرِبِ بَابًا مَفْتُوحًا لَا يُغْلَقُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا»
