1932 – And ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muslim ibn Yaḥyā said: al-Ḥusayn ibn Ismāʿīl reported to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Ismāʿīl al-Bukhārī reported to us; he said: Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Uways narrated to me, from Mālik, from Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from Abū Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Whoever has committed an injustice against his brother should seek his absolution from it today, before any of his good deeds are taken away. If he has no good deeds, an equivalent share of his brother’s misdeeds will be taken and placed upon him.”
Al-Bukhārī recorded this ḥadīth through both of the above chains.
