1925 – Muhammad ibn ʿUthmān ibn Muhammad reported to us; he said: Abū ʿUthmān Saʿīd ibn Muhammad al-Ḥannāṭ reported to us; he said: Abū Yaʿqūb Isḥāq ibn Abī Isrāʾīl reported to us; he said: Bakkār ibn Saʿīd al-Qāriʾ al-Yamāmī reported to us; he said: Hishām narrated:

I asked Ibn ʿUmar about the major sins, and he answered: “Associating partners with Allah; killing a believing soul without right; sorcery; consuming an orphan’s property without right; slandering chaste, unsuspecting believing women; undutifulness toward one’s Muslim parents; consuming usury; deeming it lawful to harm those who peacefully make their way to the Sacred House; and fleeing from the battlefield.”
