1920 – ʿUbayd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad reported to us; he said: ʿAli ibn Ahmad ibn Yazid al-Riyahi reported to us; he said: Muhammad ibn ʿIsa ibn Ismaʿil al-Farisi reported to us; he said: ʿAbbas ibn al-Warraq reported to us; he said: Wakiʿ reported to us; he said: Sufyan narrated, from Dawud ibn Abi Hind, from ʿIkrima, from Ibn ʿAbbas, who said: “Causing harm in a bequest is one of the major sins.” He then recited: “without causing harm—an ordinance from Allah” (al-Nisaʾ 4:12) up to His words, “These are the limits set by Allah, so do not transgress them” (al-Baqarah 2:229).
