1918 – Al-Ḥusayn ibn Ḥaydara told us; he said: Yūsuf ibn Yaʿqūb told us; he said: al-ʿAbbās ibn ʿAbd Allāh told us; he said: Ḥafṣ ibn ʿUmar al-ʿAdanī told us; he said: al-Ḥakam said: ʿIkrima related to me; he said: Ibn ʿAbbās was asked about the major sins—“Are they seven?”—and he replied: “They are closer to seventy than they are to seven.”
