1907 – Muḥammad ibn ʿUthmān ibn Muḥammad and Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Jaʿfar al-Bazzār narrated to us; they said: Muḥammad ibn Manṣūr ibn Abī al-Jahm narrated to us; he said: Ḥumayd ibn Masʿadah narrated to us; he said: Bishr ibn al-Mufaḍḍal narrated to us; he said: Saʿīd al-Jurayrī narrated to us, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Bakrah, from his father, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Shall I not inform you of the gravest of the major sins?” They replied, “Indeed, O Messenger of Allah.” He said, “Associating partners with Allah, and disobedience to parents.” He had been reclining, then he sat up and added, “and false testimony,” or he said, “and false speech,” repeating it until we thought, “If only he would stop.” Both al-Bukhārī and Muslim recorded this ḥadīth.
