1888 – Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Jaʿfar al-Bazzār and Muḥammad b. ⦗1099⦘ ʿUthmān b. Muḥammad narrated to us; they said: Muḥammad b. Manṣūr b. Abī al-Jahm narrated to us; he said: Ḥumayd b. Masʿadah narrated to us; he said: al-Muʿtamir b. Sulaymān narrated to us; he said: I heard my father relate, from Abū ʿAmr al-Shaybānī, from Ibn Masʿūd, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Reviling a Muslim is sinful defiance, and fighting him is disbelief.”
