175—Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman informed us. He said: ‘Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-Baghawi informed us. He said: Dawud ibn Rushayd related to us. He said: Al-Walid related to us, from Sadaqah ibn Yazid, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said:

One night, the people sighted the crescent moon and said, “How beautiful it is! How clear it is!” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: “What will your state be when your religion is like the full moon on the night of its fullness, such that none of you can see it except one endowed with insight?”
