Harun told us; he said: al-ʿAwwam reported; he said: ʿAli b. Mudrik told me, from Abu Zurʿah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: “Faith is pristine; when someone commits fornication, faith leaves him. But if he reproaches himself and turns back, faith returns to him.”
