1869 – Muhammad b. ʿAbd al-Rahman reported to us; he said: ʿAbd Allah b. Muhammad al-Baghawi narrated to us; he said: Suwayd b. Saʿid narrated to us; he said: Rashdin b. Saʿd, from Yazid b. ʿAbd Allah b. Usama b. al-Had, from al-Muqriʾ, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: “When a man goes to a woman in an unlawful way, faith parts from him like this,” and he placed one of his hands upon the other. Suwayd illustrated this with his own hands, then separated them slightly and said, “Faith leaves him like this; but when he reproaches himself and turns back, faith turns back to him,” after which he put one hand back upon the other.
