1866 – Muḥammad ibn Rizq Allāh told us; ʿUthmān ibn Aḥmad told us; Ḥanbal ibn Isḥāq narrated to us; Abū ʿAbd Allāh—meaning Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal—said: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us from Sufyān, from Ibrāhīm ibn Muhājir, from Mujāhid, from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said to his young attendants: “Whoever among you is able and wishes to marry, we shall arrange it for him. Let none of you commit fornication, for whenever a person fornicates, faith is torn away from him; if Allah wills, He restores it to him, and if He wills, He withholds it.”
١٨٦٦ - أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رِزْقِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: أنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، قَالَ: نا حَنْبَلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَعْنِي أَحْمَدَ بْنَ حَنْبَلٍ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِغِلْمَانِهِ: «وَمَنْ أَرَادَ مِنْكُمُ الْبَاءَةَ زَوَّجْنَاهُ، لَا يَزْنِي مِنْكُمْ زَانٍ إِلَّا نُزِعَ مِنْهُ الْإِيمَانُ، فَإِنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَرُدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ رَدَّهُ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَمْنَعَهُ مَنَعَهُ»
