1856 – Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Fārisī narrated to us; he said: Aḥmad ibn Saʿīd ath-Thaqafī narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā adh-Dhuhlī narrated to us; he said: Abū al-Mughīrah narrated to us; he said: al-Awzāʿī related to us, from az-Zuhrī, from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib and Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah, that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“A fornicator is not a believer at the very moment he fornicates; a wine-drinker is not a believer at the very moment he drinks; and no one snatches a piece of property of recognized worth—at which the believers gaze in astonishment as he seizes it—while he is a believer.” ⦗1086⦘
Muslim recorded it through the chain of al-Awzāʿī, and al-Bukhārī through the chain of az-Zuhrī.
١٨٥٦ - أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْفَارِسِيُّ، قَالَ: أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ، قَالَ: نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الذُّهْلِيُّ، قَالَ: نا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، قَالَ: أنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ: «لَا يَزْنِي الزَّانِي حِينَ يَزْنِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ، وَلَا يَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ حِينَ يَشْرَبُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ، وَلَا يَنْتَهِبُ نُهْبَةً ذَاتَ شَرَفٍ يَرْفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِلَيْهِ فِيهَا أَبْصَارَهُمْ حِينَ يَنْتَهِبُهَا وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ» ⦗١٠٨٦⦘. أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ،، وَالْبُخَارِيُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ الزُّهْرِيِّ
