1847 – Muhammad ibn Ahmad reported to us; ‘Uthman reported to us; Hanbal narrated, saying: Abu ‘Abd Allah Ahmad ibn Hanbal related to me: “‘Abd Allah ibn Numayr narrated to us and said, ‘I heard Sufyan ⦗1076⦘. When the Murji’ah were mentioned, he declared, “This is a novel opinion; the people I met were not upon it.”’”
