1837 – Muhammad ibn Ahmad narrated to us; ʿUthman narrated to us; he said: Hanbal narrated to us; he said: ⦗1072⦘ al-Humaydi narrated to us; he said: I heard Wakiʿ say, “Ahl al-Sunnah say: Faith consists of speech and action. The Murjiʾah say: Faith is speech without action. And the Jahmiyyah say: Faith is nothing but knowledge.”
