1835 – Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad, the jurist, reported to us; he said: ʿUmar ibn Aḥmad reported to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Hārūn ibn Ḥumayd reported to us; Muḥammad ibn Ḥibbān al-Balkhī reported to us; he said: I heard ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī say, “Whoever asserts, ‘I am a believer,’ is a Murjiʾī.”
