1829 — Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn ʿImran related to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn Sulayman ibn al-Ashʿath told us; he said: Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Naysaburi narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ibn Yusuf narrated to us; he said: “I entered upon Sufyan al-Thawri, and there was a muṣḥaf (written copy of the Quran) in his lap which he was leafing through. He remarked, ‘No one is further away from it than the Murjiʾah.’”
