1775—Ubayd Allah ibn Ahmad informed us: al-Husayn ibn Isma‘il informed us. He said: Yusuf ibn Musa narrated to us. He said: Abu al-Nadr and Abu al-Walid narrated to us—the wording is that of Abu al-Nadr. They said: Ikrimah ibn Ammar narrated to us. He said: Simak Abu Zumayl narrated to me. He said: Abd Allah ibn Abbas narrated to me. He said: Umar ibn al-Khattab narrated to me. He said:
When the day of Khaybar came, a number of the Prophet’s Companions, peace and blessings be upon him, were killed, and they said, “So-and-so is a martyr.” Then they passed by a man and said, “So-and-so is a martyr.” But the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No indeed. I saw him in the Fire because of a cloak or a mantle that he had taken unlawfully.”
Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said ⦗1047⦘, “O son of al-Khattab, go and announce among the people that none shall enter Paradise except the believers.” Muslim transmitted it.
