1768—And Ahmad ibn Umar informed us. He said: Umar ibn Ahmad ibn Ali al-Qattan informed us. He said: Muhammad ibn al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us. He said: Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah narrate that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said ⦗1045⦘: “Every prophet was granted a supplication which he made for his community, and it was answered for him. As for me, Allah willing, I wish to reserve my supplication as an intercession for my community on the Day of Resurrection.”

The wording is that of the hadith of Muhammad ibn Ja‘far. Muslim transmitted it.
