1765—Ahmad ibn Ubayd informed us: Ali ibn Abd Allah ibn Mubashshir informed us: Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us: Marhum ibn Abd al-Aziz al-Qattan narrated to us, from Ishaq ibn Ibrahim—Abu Musa said: he was a descendant of Nistas—from Sa'd ibn Ishaq ibn Ka'b ibn Ujrah, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to his Companions:
“What do you say concerning a man who is killed in the way of Allah?”
They said, “Paradise.”
He said, “Paradise, if Allah wills.”
He said, “What do you say concerning a man who dies in the way of Allah?”
They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.”
He said, “Paradise, if Allah wills.”
He said, “Then what do you say concerning a man who dies, and two upright men stand and say, ‘We know nothing of him but good’?”
They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.”
He said, “Paradise, if Allah wills.”
He said, “Then what do you say concerning a man who dies, and two men stand and say, ‘We know nothing of him but ⦗1044⦘ evil’?”
They said, “The Fire.”
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A sinful servant—and Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
