1748 — Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Umar narrated to us. He said: Umar ibn Ahmad ibn Ali al-Jawhari narrated to us. He said: Abu Mu‘adh al-Marwazi narrated to us. He said: I heard Ibrahim ibn al-Shammas say: I heard Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak say: “Faith is speech and action, and faith admits of degrees.”
١٧٤٨ - أنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أنا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، قَالَ: نا أَبُو مُعَاذٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنَ الشَّمَّاسِ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ، يَقُولُ: «الْإِيمَانُ قَوْلٌ وَعَمَلٌ، وَالْإِيمَانُ يَتَفَاضَلُ»
