155—‘Abdullah ibn Muslim ibn Yahya informed us. He said: Al-Husayn ibn Isma‘il informed us. He said: Sa‘id ibn Yahya al-Umawi narrated to us. He said: Abu Bakr ibn ‘Ayyash narrated to us, from ‘Asim, from Zirr, who said:

‘Umar delivered a sermon in Syria and said: “The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, once stood among us as I am standing among you, and he said: ‘Treat my Companions well, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then falsehood will become widespread, until a man hastens to give testimony before he is asked for it, and to swear an oath before he is asked for it. Whoever desires the heart of Paradise must adhere to the congregation, for Satan is with one person and is farther away from two. Whoever is pleased by his good deed and saddened by his evil deed is a believer.’”
