1715 — Muhammad ibn Umar ibn Muhammad ibn Humayd al-Bazzar informed us; Ibrahim ibn Abd al-Samad said: Abd al-Jabbar ibn al-Ala informed us; Waki said: Hammad ibn Najih informed us, from Abu Imran al-Jawni, from Jundub, who said ⦗1018⦘: “We were with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when we were strong youths—that is, robust—and we learned faith before learning the Quran. Then we learned the Quran afterwards, and thereby increased in faith.”
١٧١٥ - أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ الْبَزَّارُ، قَالَ: نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ، قَالَ: أنا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، قَالَ: نا وَكِيْعٌ قَالَ: نا حَمَّادُ بْنُ نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ، عَنْ جُنْدُبٍ، قَالَ ⦗١٠١٨⦘: كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ فِتْيَانٌ حَزَاوِرَةٌ، يَعْنِي أَشِدَّاءَ، فَتَعَلَّمْنَا الْإِيمَانَ قَبْلَ أَنْ نَتَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ، ثُمَّ تَعَلَّمْنَا الْقُرْآنَ بَعْدُ فَازْدَدْنَا إِيمَانًا "
