1670 — Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Umar and Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ya‘qub informed us, both saying: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hatim informed us; al-Hasan ibn Arafah narrated to us.

1671 — Muhammad ibn al-Husayn al-Farisi also informed us: al-Husayn ibn Yahya ibn Ayyash informed us; al-Hasan ibn Arafah narrated to us; Isma‘il ibn Ayyash narrated to us, from al-Mughirah ibn Qays, from Amr ibn Shu‘ayb, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Which of creation has the most remarkable faith?” In Ibn Abi Hatim’s narration: “Which of creation has the most remarkable faith in your view?” ⦗996⦘ They said, “The angels.” He said, “Why should they not believe, when they are in the presence of their Lord?” They said, “The prophets.” He said, “Why should they not believe, when revelation descends upon them?” They said, “Then us.” He said, “Why should you not believe, when I am among you?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, then said, “The people whose faith is most remarkable to me are a people who will come after you and find—” In Ibn Abi Hatim’s narration: “written pages containing a book, and believe in what they contain.”
