1669 — Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Husayn ibn al-Basir narrated to us: Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Tarkhan al-Balkhi narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Hammad al-Sulami narrated to us; Khalid ibn Yazid narrated to us; Sufyan narrated to us, from Malik—that is, Ibn Mighwal—from Talhah ibn Musarrif, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whose faith is most remarkable?” They replied, “The angels.” He said, “How could it be the angels, when they are in heaven and witness of the affairs of heaven what you do not witness?” It was said, “Then the prophets.” He said, “Revelation comes to them.” They said, “Then us.” He said, “How could it be you, when the verses of Allah are recited to you and His Messenger is among you? Rather, there will be—or there will come after me—a people who will believe in me without having seen me. Their faith is most remarkable. They are my brothers, whereas you are my Companions.”
