1620 — Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Fārisī informed us. He said: Aḥmad ibn Saʿīd al-Thaqafī narrated to us. He said: Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā al-Dhuhlī narrated to us. He said: Yaʿqūb ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Saʿd narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us, from Ṣāliḥ, from Ibn Shihāb, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr, from his father, ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked, “Which of the believers is best in faith?” He replied, “Those with the best character.”
