1606 — Aḥmad ibn ʿUbayd informed us: ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mubashshir ⦗968⦘ informed us: Aḥmad ibn Sinān narrated to us: ʿAmr ibn ʿAwn narrated to us: Khālid informed us, from ʿAmr ibn Yaḥyā, from his father, from Abū Saʿīd, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“When the people of Paradise enter Paradise and the people of the Fire enter the Fire, Allah will say: ‘Look for whoever has in his heart faith equal to the weight of a mustard seed, and bring him out of the Fire.’” He said: “They will then be brought out, having become charcoal, and cast into a river called the River of Life. There they will grow as flood-borne vegetation—or something similar; Aḥmad ibn Sinān was uncertain—grows at the side of a torrent. Have you not seen how it emerges yellow and twisted?”
Muslim transmitted it from Ḥajjāj ibn al-Shāʿir, from ʿAmr ibn ʿAwn.
