132— Ahmad ibn Ubayd informed us; Ali ibn Abd Allah ibn Mubashshir informed us; Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us; Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan.
133— And Ahmad ibn Mansur informed us; Yazid ibn al-Hasan al-Bazzar informed us; Ahmad ibn Ubayd Allah al-Sabati informed us; Ishaq ibn Yusuf narrated to us; Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibn Tawus, from Tawus, from Ibn Abbas, that Mu'awiyah said to him: “Are you upon the creed of Ali?” He replied: “No, nor am I upon the creed of Uthman; rather, I am upon the creed of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.” Their wordings are nearly identical.

١٣٣ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ , أنبا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْبَزَّارُ , أنبا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ السَّابَاطِيُّ , ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ , ثنا سُفْيَانُ , عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ , عَنْ طَاوُسٍ , عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ لَهُ: أَنْتَ عَلَى مِلَّةِ عَلِيٍّ؟ قَالَ: «لَا , وَلَا عَلَى مِلَّةِ عُثْمَانَ , وَلَكِنِّي عَلَى مِلَّةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ» . لَفْظُهُمَا سَوَاءٌ قَرِيبٌ
