Sharh Usul Itiqad Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-JamaahAl-Lalakai

And He says:

“Give glad tidings to My servants who listen to what is said and follow the best of it. They are the ones whom Allah has guided, and they are people of sound understanding.” [al-Zumar: 17]

And the Exalted says:

“Say, ‘If you truly love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive your sins. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’” [Āl ʿImrān: 31]

And the Exalted says:

“Say, ‘This is my way: I call to Allah with clear insight—I and those who follow me. Glory be to Allah! I am not among those who associate partners with Him.’” [Yūsuf: 108]

Then Allah made obedience to Him and obedience to His Messenger obligatory, saying:

“O you who believe, obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not turn away from him while you hear.” [al-Anfāl: 20]

And the Exalted says:

“Whoever obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah.” [al-Nisāʾ: 80]

And the Exalted says:

“If you obey him, you will be rightly guided.” [al-Nūr: 54]

And the Exalted says:

“Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great triumph.” [al-Aḥzāb: 71]

And He says:

“Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, fears Allah, and is mindful of Him—it is they who are the successful.” [al-Nūr: 52]

And the Exalted says:

“If you differ over anything, then refer it to Allah and the Messenger.” [al-Nisāʾ: 59]

It has been said in explanation of this verse: to the Book and the sunnah.

Then He warned against opposing him and objecting to his judgement, saying:

وَقَالَ: ﴿فَبَشِّرْ عِبَادِي الَّذِينَ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقَوْلَ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ أَحْسَنَهُ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ هَدَاهُمُ اللَّهُ وَأُولَئِكَ هُمْ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ﴾ [الزمر: ١٧] ، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿قُلْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ﴾ [آل عمران: ٣١] ، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿قُلْ هَذِهِ سَبِيلِي أَدْعُو إِلَى اللَّهِ عَلَى بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِي وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ﴾ [يوسف: ١٠٨] . ثُمَّ أَوْجَبَ اللَّهُ طَاعَتَهُ وَطَاعَةَ رَسُولِهِ، فَقَالَ: ﴿يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَلَا تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَأَنْتُمْ تَسْمَعُونَ﴾ [الأنفال: ٢٠] ، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿مَنْ يُطِعِ الرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ﴾ [النساء: ٨٠] ، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿وَإِنْ تُطِيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا﴾ [النور: ٥٤] ، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿وَمَنْ يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًا﴾ [الأحزاب: ٧١] ، وَقَالَ: ﴿وَمَنْ يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيَخْشَ اللَّهَ وَيَتَّقْهِ فَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ﴾ [النور: ٥٢] ، وَقَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿فَإِنْ تَنَازَعْتُمْ فِي شَيْءٍ فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ﴾ [النساء: ٥٩] ، قِيلَ فِي تَفْسِيرِهَا: إِلَى الْكِتَابِ وَالسُّنَّةِ. ثُمَّ حَذَّرَ مِنْ خِلَافِهِ وَالِاعْتِرَاضِ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ:
