1555 — And Muhammad informed us: Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Sulayman narrated to us; Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Musa ibn Talhah, from Abu Ayyub, who said: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, “O Messenger of Allah, direct me to a deed that will bring me near to Paradise and keep me far from the Fire.” He replied, “Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him; establish the prayer, give zakah, and maintain the ties of kinship.” When the man turned away, he said, “If he holds fast to what I commanded him, he will enter Paradise.” Al-Bukhari and Muslim transmitted it.
