And the evidence that it is action is the saying of Allah, the Exalted:

“Yet they were commanded only to worship Allah, devoting their religion sincerely to Him, inclining to true faith, and to establish prayer and give zakah. That is the upright religion.” [al-Bayyinah 98:5]

And He says:

“So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him do righteous deeds and associate no one in the worship of his Lord.” [al-Kahf 18:110]

And He says:

“Are they waiting only for the angels to come to them, or for your Lord to come, or for some of the signs of your Lord to come? On the Day when some of the signs of your Lord come, no soul’s faith will benefit it if it had not believed before, or had not earned any good through its faith.” [al-An‘am 6:158]

⦗913⦘ And the hadith of the Bedouin, when the Prophet enumerated the deeds for him: “If you do that, then you have believed.” This indicates that if a person performs all these acts, he is a believer.

والدَّلَالَةُ عَلَى أَنَّهُ عَمَلٌ: قَالَ اللَّهُ ﷿: ﴿وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ حُنَفَاءَ وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ، وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَذَلِكَ دِينُ الْقَيِّمَةِ﴾ [البينة: ٥] وَقَالَ: ﴿فَمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا، وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا﴾ [الكهف: ١١٠] ، وَقَالَ: ﴿هَلْ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ تَأْتِيَهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ، أَوْ يَأْتِيَ رَبُّكَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَ بَعْضُ آيَاتِ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِي بَعْضُ آيَاتِ رَبِّكَ لَا يَنْفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَانُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ آمَنَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِي إِيمَانِهَا خَيْرًا﴾ [الأنعام: ١٥٨] ⦗٩١٣⦘، وَحَدِيثُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ لَمَّا عَدَّ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ الْأَعْمَالَ: «فَإِذَا فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ آمَنْتَ» ، فَدَلَّ عَلَى أَنَّ مَجْمُوعَ هَذِهِ الْأَفْعَالِ إِذَا أَتَى بِهَا فَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ
