124—Abd al-Rahman ibn Umar informed us; Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad al-Zuhri informed us; al-Abbas ibn Muhammad narrated to us; Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from Abd al-Mu'min; Mahdi al-Abdi narrated to us, through another chain.

125—And Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Abd Allah informed us; Uthman ibn Ahmad informed us; al-Hasan ibn Sallam narrated to us; Affan narrated to us; Abd al-Mu'min al-Sudusi narrated to us; Mahdi ibn Abi Mahdi al-Abdi narrated to us. He said: Ikrimah told me, from Ibn Abbas, who said:

“No year comes upon the people except that they introduce an innovation in it and cause a sunnah to die, until innovations become established and the sunnahs die out.”

And I heard him say: “Until innovations become manifest.”
