1497 — Al-Qasim ibn Ja‘far informed us; Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn ‘Amr narrated to us; he said: Sulayman ibn al-Ash‘ath narrated to us; he said: ‘Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us; he said: al-Aswad ibn ‘Amir narrated to us; he said: Abu Bakr ibn ‘Ayyash narrated to us. H

1498 — And Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr informed us; Muhammad ibn Makhlad informed us; he said: ‘Abbas ibn Muhammad narrated to us; he said: Ahmad ibn Yunus narrated to us; he said: Abu Bakr ibn ‘Ayyash narrated to us, from al-A‘mash, from Sa‘id ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Jurayj, from Abu Barzah al-Aslami, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “O company of those who have believed with their tongues, while faith has not entered their hearts: do not backbite the Muslims or seek out their faults. For whoever seeks out their faults, Allah will seek out his faults; and whoever’s faults Allah seeks out, He will expose him, even within his own home.”
